Genesis 1:11 demonstrates the genius engineering of the Creator. The Lord issues forth the command that “the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself…”
A biblical “kind” signifies an organism’s reproductive boundary, reflecting the natural organization of creatures. While “species” is frequently equated with creatures in the Bible to challenge the Genesis flood narrative—questioning the number of animals and the size of Noah’s ark—this stems from secular misinterpretations of Scriptural biology. Notably, “species” is a term developed in the 19th century. Criticizing the Bible’s language for lacking the term “species” is misleading at best and deceptive at worst.
Based on Biblical descriptions, the ‘Kind’ in the Bible contains all DNA combinations necessary to produce every species variation we see. This is evident in the phrase “whose seed is in itself”. This was a whole or complete creative act. Therefore, the dog “kind” contains the DNA combinations for every type of dog that will ever exist.
