Statement of Faith
Scripture Defined
We affirm that Scripture is the final and complete expression of God’s revelation in written form. It carries the full authority of the Lord Himself, as though He personally inscribed every word. Scripture is produced through the divine process of inspiration—a process that encompasses transcription, transmission, and translation—and is supernaturally preserved to remain pure, intact, and without error.
The inclusion of each word in the canon is a miraculous act of divine affirmation, confirming its inspired origin. According to 2 Timothy 3:16, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God,” which means that any manuscript, copy, or translation rightly called Scripture must have been produced through this same process of divine inspiration. Scripture is not confined to the original autographs, but to the preserved and providentially transmitted text that reflects what God said.
The nature of Scripture mirrors the character and integrity of God Himself—holy, unchanging, and true. As His word, it is authoritative, sufficient, and final in all matters of faith and practice.
We further affirm the doctrine of preservation: that God has superintended the safeguarding of His exact words from the moment they were written. This divine oversight ensures that, despite human frailty, copying errors, corrupt manuscripts, or the passage of time, the Scriptures remain unbroken and without error. “The words of the LORD are pure words…thou shalt preserve them…forever” (Psalm 12:6–7). Thus, we hold that the preserved Scriptures available today are the inspired word of God, bearing His full authority.
