You call it a mistake.
You think it’s just a lapse in judgment.
It is actually a declaration of war.
King Saul thought he could edit God’s instructions and still keep the crown. He kept the best of the sheep and called it a sacrifice. God called it something else entirely.
You make the choice. God assigns the consequences.
As.
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft.”
That one word creates an equal sign.
God does not see a sliding scale of sin.
So when you commit rebellion, you cannot change it to a mistake. You cannot make excuses. You made the decision. Own the consequences.
Choosing your own way is the same as seeking a different master. It’s the same a rejecting what you know is right.
Submit. Obey. Serve.
1 Samuel 15:22 — And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
